A portion of Heritage Trail damaged by erosion; detour offers safe path

By Kristi Kent

Heritage Park Trail ErosionThe City of Rome Public Works Department has set up detours on the Heritage Park Trail to ensure public safety concerning erosion damage on the trail. The portion of the trail that has been damaged is located behind Chieftains Museum and is closed off.

Public Works has set up a detour on the trail that redirects people to the side walk that follows Riverside Parkway; the trail is picked up again at the unpaved service road just before Fuddruckers that connects Riverside Parkway to the trail.

Public works is currently considering options to both repair the trail and correct the erosion problem.
