Overview
On October 1, 1961, Rome established a City department to take over the bus operation from the Georgia Power Co. The power company gave the City all of its buses, plus any spare parts and equipment on hand. In addition, Georgia Power paid the City $300,000. The City agreed to use the money for the transportation system only.
