Our mission is to provide a comprehensive and aggressive emergency preparedness, response and recovery program for the citizens of Floyd County. Our goal is to save lives, protect property, and reduce the effects of disasters through mitigation programs. National Weather Service
Storm Spotter Class
On April 1, 2014 at 6:00 Pm, the National Weather Service will be conducting a Severe Weather Storm Spotter Class at the new Rome/ Floyd Emergency Operations Center, which is located at 409 East 12th St. Rome, Ga. 30161. The class is scheduled to last about two (2) hours and will discuss the elements that make up severe weather, severe weather safety, and offers certification as a National Weather Service Severe Weather Spotter. The class is open to the public.
