John Mayes is owner and founder of Pro Systems Clean Care, which has been operating in Northwest Georgia for over 27 years. He is currently a serving in his fourth term as a Floyd County Commissioner. He serves on the Floyd Medical Center Hospital Authority and Management Board,
As a Commissioner, John currently serves as Chairman of the Floyd County Public Safety Committee. He also represents the Floyd County Board of Commissioners on the Alcohol Control Commission, Department of Family & Children Services Board, Fire Overview Committee, Gordon-Floyd Joint Development Authority, the Hospital Authority of Floyd County, and the Floyd County Work Release Committee.
Mayes is a member of the Georgia Board of Corrections, Georgia Film, Video and Music Advisory Commission, IRMA Board and is on the Board of Directors for a local bank. Mayes is a 2007 recipient of the Rome, Georgia "Heart of the Community Award" and is a past recipient of the Small Business of the Year Award from the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce. Mayes has served as director of Network Associates, YMCA, and the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Rome Rotary. He is a co-founder of Mission 2000: an African Relief Project and is the founder of Camp Uncle John, a private retreat designed to reach out to area youth.
Mayes received his undergraduate degree from Albany State University. He and his wife, Terri, reside in Floyd County with their children.
